We have communities all over the country that offer their own special events each year. Here is a brief description of some of them. Please visit the Links page to brief yourself on what other communites around the country are offering. SUFI SCHOOLS: Similar to our own "Southwest Sufi Gathering," the Sufi Schools usually take place in the summer and last a week at a time. The big ones are in Northern California and Southern Pennsylvania, with smaller ones usually occuring in Chicago, Portland Oregon, and Florida. These are deep opportunities to immerse yourself in Sufi teachings delivered by great masters, and to experience life in a Sufi community. Local Communities / Study Groups: Whether you are in New York, Berkeley, Florida, the MidWest, or near any of our other regional centers, you are welcome to drop by and study with them. Communities hold zhikrs and offer a variety of local activities and instruction. Our large centers in Northern California and Pennsylvania often offer work-study programs on their land.

Zawiyya (Spiritual Retreat): Also occasionally offered in Austin, we have dedicated sites in California and in Maryland/Pennsylvania to go and spend time in quiet spiritual retreat under the caring guidance of a professional spiritual teacher. During this time you will read, and write Sufi teachings, participate in group or solitary recitations, and check-in with your appointed teacher. Zawiyya can also be combined with outdoor work-study in garden or farm environments for those who prefer to remain active as part of their retreat.

THE UNIVERSITY OF SPIRITUAL HEALING & SUFISM and RELATED WORKSHOPS: Our large University meets every 3 months for one week. Different class levels meet to learn Sufism, to grow spiritually under a dedicated program, and to learn and practice Wholistic and spiritual Healing Arts. The faculty is comprised of doctors, healers, spiritual teachers and business leaders. Available majors include spiritual healing, peacemaking & diplomacy, and wholistic business consulting among others. Masters degrees in theology are available.

In addition the University sponsors related workshops around the country. University faculty often offer their own programs, from Dr. Jaffe's immensely popular weekends, to James Keeley's workshops around his new book "Walking with God," to women's groups and success seminars. Teleclasses: Usually there are several ongoing teleclasses where one can plug in to just listen and enjoy or to participate in conversation. Some of them read from Sidi's books and some meet to discuss members' spiritual walking and to offer support. Please see the Teleclass section for specific call information.

We follow the Guidance of one of the World's Great Sufi Masters, Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal, Head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. This is a Rare and Unique Opportunity to study with a renowned Sufi Master.
