Welcome Newcomers! Our congregation comes from all walks of life. White, black, hispanic, doctors, teachers, students, artists, professionals. We welcome anyone who truly loves God and is interested in spiritual growth. We believe that because of the caliber of our teachers and the depth of this teaching that we can help you to reach your spiritual goals. Our group, with its emphasis on societal leadership and service, has traditionally attracted intelligent, caring people. We expect our members to remain astute as they walk the spiritual path. Ours is not a way of blind obedience, but of recognizing what is true and good and going for it! We do not worship our spiritual guide or our teachers. Our spiritual teachers are our equals, helping us to know the Way because they have walked it before us. They gently guide us in finding the truth in ourselves, so that we can move with deliberation and understanding. We welcome people of any race, faith, and background. Our teachings are available for those with money and for those without. Sufism has a historical link to Islam, but we believe the Prophetic teaching was One. We follow the teachings of all the Prophets, and emphasize the common ground of Peace, Love, Mercy and Friendship found in all the monotheistic Faiths. Some of our events are accessible for members of the Deaf community. We have young people, retired folks, as well as families with children. |
In Austin we have a vibrant community waiting to join hands with you on your spiritual journey. We have weekly events, designed for both newcomers and experienced folks. We offer ongoing classes on a variety of topics as well as hosting visiting teachers from other parts of the country. Some of our local classes are free and some cost money.
You may have heard of the University we run in California called the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism. For over 10 years this school has offered an intensive program in spiritual growth and the healing arts. You may find out more at the Links page.
We follow the Guidance of one of the World's Great Sufi Masters, Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal, Head of the Higher Sufi Council in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. This is a Rare and Unique Opportunity to study with a renowned Sufi Master.
